We've also got a great article about the importance of getting everybody on the same page when hiring new team members, a QBQ! Personal Accountability QuickNote from John Miller, and a great article by Patrick Lencioni as part of our Featured Guru series.

We'll conclude our five part series on interpersonal conflict in our next newsletter so be sure to check back in two weeks for the final installment!

Five Signs That Your Firm's Culture is Inbred
Woman frustrated with her organization's cultureAnyone who has worked in an organization with a noxious culture can testify to the effect this type of culture has on the firm's ability to meet goals, consistently turn a profit, and the negative effect it has on employee morale.

At The Rainmaker Group we refer to such cultures as "Inbred Cultures" and they all share similar qualities.

Get Everybody on the Same Page During the Hiring Process.
Chris Young - Founder, The Rainmaker GroupAll too often I see organizations bring on new team members who are doomed to fail long before their first day on the job.

The reason?  Managers, stakeholders, and the new hire didn't share the same expectations with respect to performance, responsibilities, and the over all role of the new hire within the organization.

The results are painful and incredibly predictable... Firm performance suffers, employee morale languishes, and the new hire will eventually be let go or seek employment elsewhere.

For this reason it is critical that all those involved in the hiring process are on the same page when bringing on a new team member.

Featured Guru - Patrick Lencioni
Patrick LencioniPatrick Lencioni is the author of six best selling business books including one of our favorites, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team.

Lencioni is a natural story teller, has an uncanny ability to break complex problems into discrete, less threatening parts, and writes in a style that is concise and easy to read.

In his career Lencioni has consulted with some of the largest and most storied companies in America and draws from his experiences with these organizations to help managers and leaders in organizations of all sizes achieve greater productivity and effectiveness.

In this week's Featured Guru section we would like to feature an article by Patrick Lencioni that focuses on the issues raised in his most popular book - The Five Dysfunctions of a Team.  In his article Lencioni identifies five causes of team dysfunction that prevent teams and organizations from reaching their full potential.

In case you weren't aware... The Rainmaker Group provides a powerful team building program based on Lencioni's book -The Five Dysfunctions of a Team - that has helped numerous teams overcome their dysfunctions and achieve results previously thought to be unattainable.
