| 10 Key Attributes to Look for in a Telecommuter |
With gas prices at all time highs, there is a good chance that interest is growing in your organization about the possibility of telecommuting or working from home.
While telecommuting offers great benefits to the employee, organization, and the environment, it can be a real challenge if the wrong people are allowed to enter into a remote work arrangement.
A successful telecommuter is a special "breed" of worker who is able to consistently achieve desired results in the absence of traditional workplace supervision.
In our experience helping a number of organizations hire remote workers and implement telecommuting programs, we have identified 10 key personal attributes that make for a successful telecommuter.

Mindset Power - The Power of What you Believe |
"Why do some people reach their creative potential in business while other equally talented people do not?"
Chances are you've asked yourself that question, or some variation thereof at some point in your career.
The answer may surprise you as it has as much to with your personal "mindset" with respect to determination, perseverance, and your propensity for personal growth as it does with intelligence and education.
Psychologist Carol Dweck has conducted considerable research on this issue and recently released a powerful book - Mindset - about a major determinant of personal success - an open mind to change, learning, and improvement.

| Featured Guru - Marshall Goldsmith |
Marshall Goldsmith is a renowned author of too many books to mention here and business coach to CEOs of some of the largest companies in the U.S. His latest book, What Got You Here, Won't Get you There, recently ranked as the top selling business book by the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
Goldsmith has also authored regular feature columns for Business Week and Fast Company magazine.
This week we'd like to feature a powerful article by Goldsmith titled The Success Delusion. In this article Goldsmith takes a look at four common beliefs that successful people hold that make change difficult and how to overcome these beliefs to become even more successful.
This is a must read for anyone looking to take their career to the next level!

QBQ! Personal Accountability QuickNote - "Why Can't Customers Follow the Rules?" |
We've all been there and can agree that it is never much fun: being called out by an organization's employee for "not following the rules".
For example, when ordering lunch you ask to substitute a salad for the cup of soup included with the meal. The server's response: "No substitutions allowed" and proceeds to direct you to the bottom of the page to prove they are right.
How is that for a customer experience?
Rules and policies are established by organizations for a number of reasons. I can respect that.
However the way in which a team member enforces these rules depends on the employee's level of personal accountability and can make or break a customer's experience.
Creating a culture of Personal Accountability should be a top priority for all organizations. Team members who think and practice Personal Accountability can bring about incredible changes for an organization. The blame game disappears, morale increases, and customer experiences are enhanced all thanks to the power of Personal Accountability.
The Rainmaker Group is proud to offer powerful day long QBQ! workshops instilling the power of Personal Accountability into teams and organizations across the country.
