Hello!

We've got a great newsletter for you this week to help you Maximize Possibility in your organization!

In our lead article we'll address all the talk and increased focus on hiring the best fit talent for the job and challenge you to ask yourself if your organization is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to hiring top talent.

Our second article takes a look at the current economic downturn and how it offers an excellent opportunity to improve your strategic business model.  Here's the kicker though... The time to act is now!

In our Featured Guru section this week we'd like to highlight a blog post from one of the best business bloggers out there - Seth Godin - who discusses what he calls the 90/10 rule of marketing a job.

We've also got a great QBQ! Personal Accountability QuickNote by John Miller who reminds us that people are still the backbone of a resilient economy.

Hiring the Best Talent - Is Your Organization Putting its Money Where its Mouth is?
I've heard a lot of talk lately from business executives, managers, supervisors, and HR reps about the importance of hiring the right employee and ensuring a proper job fit.

While it is great to hear that business people are coming to appreciate the need to hire the best fit talent for the job, the skeptic inside me can't help but wonder:

How committed are these individuals to hiring the best talent?

Is this just another line of corporate propaganda?

Are these organizations truly prepared to spend the time and money that hiring the best fit talent for the job requires?

The truth is that talk is cheap and hiring the best employees requires considerable effort and investment on the part of an organization.

The Economic Downturn is Exposing Your Business Strategy Weaknesses - The Time to Act is Now!
Broken LinkWhile the current economic slowdown is taking a real toll on a number of organizations, it also presents an excellent strategic opportunity to improve your business model.

While a recession can be a financially strenuous and downright painful event, it does a very effective job of highlighting the flaws and weaknesses in your organization's business strategy.  The truth is that when times are good, we don't notice these weaknesses as easily because revenues are growing, the bottom line is healthy, and everyone is happy.  Now that business is slowing down, these flaws in your organization's business strategy become more apparent every day.

The question that begs to be asked is this: What are you going to do about it?

Are you hoping that things will turn around soon and you won't have to address the obvious flaws in your business strategy, or are you going to roll up your sleeves and exert the necessary effort for your organization to emerge from this recession a stronger and more strategically focused organization?
